How do you write a thesis statement for a research paper? - alexphilips - 04-07-2017

To write a thesis statement is to make a claim and outline how you are going to support that claim throughout the rest of the research paper. The thesis statement should be clearly stated in the first paragraph of the research paper. Before writing the thesis statement, it is important to know exactly what you want to discuss or prove in the paper. Once you know the claim that you want to make, decide what details of that claim you are going to explore in your research and include that in the thesis.

A thesis statement is the main point in academic writing. It brings theme and organization to your writing. The thesis paper need not specify every purpose of it, but it should reveal any purpose that is not obvious or requested by the final reader. Thesis statement is the, after the introduction of your topic, you state your point of view on topic directly in one sentence. And it serves as summary of the argument in rest of your paper.
